The Diner | Medium-Dark Roast Blend

from $18.00

Some things don't need fixing. Diner coffee is one of them.

The Diner started as a question: what if you took that classic, dark, nostalgic cup — the one that comes with bottomless refills and a side of eggs — and made it with beans that actually deserved it? Not to improve on it so much as to do right by it.

What we landed on is a medium-dark blend we call 'medium-rare' — dark and toasty on the outside, but built on the same quality single origins that go into our lighter roasts. The beans carry their character into the roast rather than having it burned out of them. The result is cacao and charred oak and toast, with enough complexity underneath to remind you this isn't your standard supermarket dark roast.

Low acidity. Big body. Deeply familiar. It's the coffee for people who don't want to think about their coffee — they just want it to be excellent every time.

BREWING NOTE

The Diner was designed for drip, and that's where it shines. A French press also works beautifully — the full immersion brings out the body and smooths out any edge. It pulls well as espresso too, for a more traditional American-style shot.
